The Benda Avengers 125 is a custom bike powered by a 125 cc V-twin engine, a rare configuration in this displacement class. With 14 hp, a 6-speed gearbox and belt drive, it stands out in a segment where most rivals make do with a single-cylinder engine. The question is worth asking: is this setup enough for road trips, or is the bike better suited to urban use?
V-twin power in a 125: what this engine layout changes in practice
Single-cylinder engines dominate the 125 cc segment. Most customs available to riders with an A1 or B licence (with 125 cc training) use a single cylinder, often air-cooled. The Benda Avengers takes a different approach with its 8-valve V-twin and liquid cooling.
This configuration has a direct effect on how the bike performs. Its 14 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm is delivered more smoothly than on a single-cylinder bike, making it easier to accelerate out of corners or overtake on country roads. Electronic fuel injection also helps ensure a consistent response.
Another noticeable difference is the sound. A V-twin produces a deeper, more rhythmic note, similar to what you’d expect from larger-displacement cruisers. On the Benda 125 Avengers, this distinctive sound adds to a riding experience that goes beyond basic transportation.

The Benda Avengers 125 on the road: the real limits of a 14 hp bike
The claimed top speed is 120 km/h. That figure needs some context. Reaching that speed on a flat road is one thing; maintaining it comfortably over a journey of several dozen kilometres is another.
With a kerb weight of 164 kg, the Benda Avengers sits within a reasonable range for a 125 cc custom. This weight helps stabilise the bike at cruising speed on main roads, but it is noticeable during low-speed manoeuvres and hill starts. The power-to-weight ratio remains the limiting factor on longer road journeys.
The very low 690 mm seat height lets most riders put both feet flat on the ground. This makes the bike feel reassuring in town and at frequent stops. For a two- or three-hour ride on smaller roads, the cruiser riding position (forward-set footpegs, upright torso) helps reduce back fatigue.
Where this bike excels—and where it struggles
- In town and on the outskirts, the torque available from low revs and the bike’s manoeuvrability make daily journeys smooth. The CBS braking system, with 300 mm discs at the front and 240 mm at the rear, provides progressive braking suited to frequent stops.
- On country roads and main roads at speeds of up to 90 km/h, the Benda Avengers maintains its cruising pace without the engine seeming overstressed. The wide tyres (120/80-16 at the front, 150/80-15 at the rear) provide stability through corners.
- On dual carriageways or motorways, the 14 hp engine shows its limits. It has to rev high to maintain 110–120 km/h, causing vibrations and reducing riding enjoyment over longer distances. The 15-litre tank also means more frequent fuel stops than on a larger-displacement bike.
The Benda Avengers is therefore a bike for rides on secondary roads, not a touring machine. Its ideal outings are loops of under 200 km on winding routes where high speeds aren’t necessary.
Benda Avengers styling and finish: more than just custom-bike marketing
This bike’s appeal also rests on its looks. Its dimensions (2,120 mm long, 836 mm wide and 1,050 mm high) give it an elongated silhouette reminiscent of bikes with much larger engines.
Several dealers have highlighted the quality of the finish. At a listed price of €5,099 including VAT (excluding setup and registration fees), the Benda Avengers offers an unusually high level of finish for a 125 cc custom at this price. The belt drive, which is quieter and requires less maintenance than a chain, further reinforces this premium feel.

The bike’s clean, urban styling is more than just cosmetic. The frame design, exposed V-twin engine and fuel tank profile come together in a cohesive whole. On the road, it attracts attention in a way few 125s can match.
Benda Avengers 125: what kind of rider is it for?
This bike is aimed at a specific audience. B-licence holders who have completed 125 cc training and want a custom with a distinctive character will find an alternative to the usual single-cylinder models. New A1 licence holders looking for a first cruiser-style bike may also find it appealing.
The 6-speed gearbox and liquid cooling put the Benda Avengers in a higher technical class than the average 125 cc custom. These features don’t turn its 14 hp into touring-bike performance, but they do provide genuine versatility for both city riding and smaller roads.
Choosing this bike means accepting a clear compromise: styling and riding enjoyment above the norm for its class, in exchange for a limited range due to its engine size. For weekday commutes and weekend rides through the countryside, it’s a compromise that works. For covering 300 km on the motorway, you’re better off moving up to a larger displacement.
